How Artist Matchmaker Works

Sign Up

Create your account with basic information including your email, password, cell phone, and Brooklyn neighborhood. Your name and contact information will not be shared until you are matched with another artist and opt-in to collaborate.

Share Your Artwork

Upload five images or short videos of your artwork that best represent your style and creative vision. These images will be shown to other artists in the matchmaking process.

Add Descriptive Phrases

Offer five short phrases to describe your art or process. These might relate to central themes, philosophies, mediums, techniques, or approaches to your work.

Enter Matchmaking Mode

Encounter other artists' profiles anonymously. You'll see:

• Their neightborhood (no names are shown)
• One featured artwork with four smaller images or videos
• Three of their descriptive phrases

Give a thumbs up if you're interested in collaborating, or thumbs down if their style doesn't match what you're looking for.

Mindfully Selected Collaborations

We will review potential collaborations and reach out to artists in late June. We will consider:

• Artists who have mutually liked each other's work
• Profiles we believe would create truly unique collaborations
• Complementary (or oppositional) styles and techniques that could lead to innovative projects

Rather than instant notifications, we take time to thoughtfully consider potential partnerships and reach out personally when we see an opportunity for something meaningful.

Start Collaborating

Reach out to the makers you've been matched with to plan your collaboration in earnest. Meet up virtually or in person during the month of July, then share the fruits of your labor with us for exhibition in August!

• Finished collaborations due by July 31, 2025.
• Exhibit opening on August 7, 2025!
